Andy's 3A               Truck        & wagon

The 3A waiting in the garage for me. It is be-headed, and I will continue tearing the engine down when I get back.  It has a GPW head on it.  Block prefix is UP, so I don't know where this engine came from... The junk seats have been replaced with restored M-38 seats.  Intend to do full restoration.  Wagon- I have the original engine torn down, and will be rebuilding soon to restore to stock condition.  Also intend to restore back to stock- need to ditch non-stock gauges and engine to do so.

Bob Hamilton's 51 Pickup

194 Chevy motor.  Rewired - 12 volt.  Warn hubs and overdrive.  Original transmission, transfer case.  DuPont paint (self applied) Chromalusion on the interior and the panels under the box.  Gauges are all working!  I just added stock racks - haven't taken a picture of them yet.  Drive it once or twice a week.

Danny martin's 51 M38

New seats, Oil Filter System, Air Breather System (see attached picture...I can't afford the oil bath filter yet, so this will have to do), Rebuilt the steering system. It was shot when I got it.  I'm suppose to get my rebuilt waterproof distributor this weekend with the wires and plugs. Wahoooo!!  And a lot of other minor things like some electrical and a new tow bar.  Oh, there is a pic of a master kill electrical switch on the firewall.  I think the switch in the starter has a slow drain on the battery, so this was a quick fix for now.  It turns off the entire electrical system except the stereo.  It seems to have solved the problem.  I also included a picture of my kids helping out. They really love helping, although I'm not sure if they really help me, but they love to crawl under the jeep when I'm there and check things out.  I'll send some more pictures after this weekend.  Next modification I'm considering: There's a lot of play in the front wheels.  I need to check them out (bearings, knuckles....) Lockers, if I can afford it.  Deep water fording kit is the ultimate goal.  I want this sucker to go through 4-feet of water at least. It's going to take a lot of work, but it's a long term project.

Dave Greenwood's 51 3A

I took my frame to a place to get sandblasted back in October guess what its still in a pile of  snow beside the garage, go figure eh!  This is as as far as i got then it snowed!!!   Buford Ontario Canada.  1951 jeep Willys, salvaged from a hermit for 300 bucks Canadian, motor seized, the body is toast, planning to drive it summer of 2005,,cant rush perfection I guess!!!!!   Ah well its the best project I've ever had!!!

Gary Zell's 1953 M37

28th division signal corps truck

Front to back drive train rebuild,  all working radios.  Brookhaven, PA

Jim & Mickey Harnage's Wagon

This is what is underneath.  This was taken after the body and paint shop, headed to the muffler shop.  Now the glass is in and she is being upholstered.  The bumper really turned out great!

Jim Thornton's 61 wagon

All of the interior is original except a few details. The seats are the original with new blue vinyl/cheap leather. There has been a new head liner that is no were near original. It's cloth that has seen better days. There is no floor mat with the Willy's lettering, rather outdoor carpet. And the dash gauge panels have been modified except the on in the middle. Not sure if their should even have five gauges? The rest is there, the steering wheel to the light in the ceiling, to the oak strips in the back of the wagon.

The body of the wagon is in good shape. The lower quarter panels on both sides needs to be replaced as well as the hinges on the rear window and tailgate. There is minimal if any rust on this wagon other than that. There is no major body repairs to be needed other than the items listed above, excluding sanding, putty, and a lot of time!

The chaise itself is in good condition. It has been modified by wheels only as far as I can tell. The leaf spring in front and rear need to be replaced as well as the shocks. It is a 4wd powered by a Chevy 327 4 barrel carb. It runs ok. I need to have the lifters replaced and hopefully nothing else, but it is not likely.

There needs to be simple stuff done to this Willy, but no money no time. I first saw a Willy in Alabama that was used as a hunting vehicle. The man waned like $2000.00 for it. So to make a long story short, I took all the cash I had and went to the casino. Big mistake did not win the money, nor was I able to get back to North Carolina. This is actually the 2nd Willy that I have owned but the first was a piece of rust. Cool 1952 2wd model. Looked like Boney and Clyde. Had a straight 6 lighting as far as I could tell. Pull over drive with three in the column. With this Willy I got smart. I went out west to Oregon. Great deal coast a little more due to shipping this vehicle. This was the most practical of my options. Get the Willy or don't so I sprung for the cash.

Lee Hart's 49 Jeepster

This is registered as a 49, W-O Jeepster, VIN 673VJ10475, 2 Wheel w/o OD.  Photo is of the car in parade dress.  The colors were due to it being a former Shrine Parade car.  It is now undergoing restoration.  Eventually, it will be painted yellow and black to present its original appearance.   Whidbey Is, WA

Ricardo Riostirado's Pickup

Vern Balster's 58 wagon

Here's a pic of my wife, the first and only time she drove the Willy's.  After this trip, it began to make noises in the driveline, which ultimately led me to you and your Dana 4:27 rear axle...  It's a '58, actually two 58's, which I consolidated into one good 226.  It is all original except for a Chevy 283, rebuilt 2 years ago.  I also put coil-over shocks on her and added the wood quarter-sawn oak sides.  I've had her for about 10 years, and don't plan any more mods, but am going to send the bumpers to a chrome shop and repaint her in the next year or so.

Wayne Farrand's 58 pickup

It is a 58 4WD. Came from the Nebraska sand hills so hardly any rust but everything that moved had sand in it. It is totally stock: 6V, 226; it was originally a p/u but I had to remove the flatbed and find a box; replaced steering box and all brakes with originals.  Currently working over the carb.  West Des Moines, IA

Bill Hickey's 51 Pickup

F-head 4 cyl engine.  I am the 2nd owner.  frame off restoration in progress.  Hope to have it finished by end of summer 2004.  Goochland, Virginia

Greg DePaull's 62 pickup

Super Hurricane 226, 22,000 original miles  Paint, wheels, front bumper and 12volt system are only non-original items.  Have original wheel stored in garage.  Truck was stored in gas station garage for most of it's life. Was used to plow snow and push cars around.  I may repaint truck to original color.  It has some minor body rust in normal areas.  I drive the truck every nice day and it continues to be stored in garage.  Bayville NJ

Pat Mcnamer's 61 pickup

With the original L226 engine, T90 trans and D18 t-case. I brought it home on December 7, 2001 and September 2002 managed to get it on the road.  Mods include an alternator with new wiring and a fuse block, tachometer, and hidden "no start" switch.  I have converted to 4 wheel disc brakes, all new brake lines and new master cylinder with a remote reservior. For wheels and tires i bought generic 15X7 steel spokes and 30X9.5 radials.  Performance mods are a fuel filter, K&N air filter and a tractor muffler ( it was the right "look") Davis, Illinois
